Today Aunt Kathy (my aunt from Dallas) rented a sail boat and captian and took Grandpa (87) sailing. Apparently this was something Grandpa had never done but always wanted to do. Kathy's kids, my cousins, and two of their friends also sailed. I took Grandma to Port Aransas to meet them for lunch then they sailed back to the marina. Grandma was sure to make Grandpa cover himself from head to toe to keep from getting sunburned.

Homeward bound. Damn, that's a long drive. We stopped and saw friends, Kim, Kyra and Maeve 1/2 way home. We know Kyra from our June 2001 web board. Maeve is a bit older than avery. They were so kind to let us invade them to break up our trip.

Oh, you won't believe this....we went to the Ripley's Believe it or not museum, Wax Museum and Maze of Mirrors. The giant dinos in front of the bldg are made from chrome car bumpers. The place looks like a turkish castle.
This was a set of three, presumably a man, woman and child. All made from all kinds of junk--seriously--junk art.

We arrived at the camp ground for the family reunion Friday afternoon. It was hot and dry. We got to sit in the river to cool off, visit with family, eat some delicous BBQ and just play.

Today I pondered my closet as I was choosing something to wear for church. I have an 8 ft closet that is full. The floor is a heap of shoes I wear all the time, flip flops, mules, crocks, tennis shoes, etc. The bar is full of clothes, mostly work clothes, casual clothes, a wedding dress. I gathered all the work type clothes and pushed them all to one side which was actually about 3/4 of the closet. The rest is tshirts, casual pants and capris and a few dressier clothes. The top shelf is work shoes that stay in boxes. I contemplated packing up all the work type clothes since I don't know when I will wear them, some suits from the stuffy-law office- days, slacks that maybe I'll wear in winter, etc. I regularly check the Job section of the classified, the job boards, etc. and I don't know why. I'm enjoying this time of my life, my work clothes are tshirts and shorts. Tshirts get dirty with kid gunk then go in the rag big. I don't worry about dry cleaning anything. Maybe its time to face facts--maybe not. I think I'll keep the work clothes a bit longer--or else my closet will be pretty bare!

Birthday party at a gymnastics gym. I could not keep my kids out of the foam pit that is used for the gymnists to land in after running on the runway mat and practicing their maneuvers in the air. Not to mention to tranpolines--they were both so tired at bedtime!

Yesterday I was cahsing Avery to the bathroom at the pool and stepped on something hard buried in the grass and bruised my foot. It hurts like hell. Its is swollen and hard to walk. Grrrrrrrr.
