Go figure! this morning around 10:00 i was trying to dry my hair and my little sunshine decided she no longer needed socks, jeans or a diaper today. She spent the better part of the morning playing in only her tshirt. Thankfully we had no accidents and tried the potty every 15 minutes without success.

This is what $236.61 got me at the store today! It was a two-basket trip. Now I know what my mom felt like when she would do the "big" shopping trips when we were kids!

My ONLY picture for today. Avery was having a melt down because, during her nap, I put her blanket (a/k/a Binkie) in the wash and when she woke up, it was no where to be found. By this time, it was in the dryer, still damp. So I had to take her, twice, to visit Binkie while it dried.

I met this baby tonite at a party. I believe this was one of the most beautiful babies I've ever seen.

Report Card Day

So, look what Payne gave me today with his report card. Payne was very, very proud. The name of the school has been omitted for privacy from creepy blog lurkers!

This is how I spent part of my day.

Goodbye baby crib....tomorrow you will be one your way to your new home in Fort Worth. A wonderful place for Jonah to rest his tiny head when he arrives in April.

The Great Green Bowl

This well-used, green bowl is now part of my vintage Pyrex nesting bowls. I don't know how it made it into my set. This was my Mamaw's bowl. She wrote her name, in her very recognizable hand writing, on the bottom probably to make sure she got it back from one of her many garden club, bromiliad, orchid or some other society meeting she must have attended. Today I mixed brownies in it for my family. I wonder haw many different things my Mamaw made in this bowl and where all it has been. So Mamaw's name, Treva, has almost worn off but I'll remember her every time I use the bowl.

This is the fabric from Avery's sweater vest she wore today. Its amazingly soft, pale pink with a hint of shimmer. I can see a whole bed spread in Aqua made out of this stuff my my bedroom!

My new MP3 player. 2 gig. Its so small and now almost full of music.

I hate the way the original Chap Stick or any generic version smells.

Whataburger iced tea. Can't live without it.

Like mother, like daughter. Yes, I have to sleep with my head covered.

found info on the Aztec Wheel: 1978: The Arts and Cultural Commission sponsored a competition with public monies to finance the Aztec Wheel. Aztec Wheel is a Pre-Columbian styled, 6' metal disc cut in from Corten steel, designed to be exposed to corrosive climates. Disc sits on two cylinders of concrete.

I've seen this sculpture ever since I've worked in the downtown area, say about the last 15 years. Its in the middle if an intersection. I've always wondered about it......

January 5, 2008--Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival

Today was the first two of four performances of the 26th annual Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival at our church. More than 180 people in authentic Renaissance costumes take part in this performance, including two dogs and a live hawk. This is the Yule Log sprite. He rides the log, pulled by two Yule Log guards, ringing a brass bell to announce his arrival, until its placement at the front of the church. Payne is the left rear Yule Log guard. I took lots of pictures but most were blurry due to some strange setting I changed on the camera.

Today, on our walk home from school, we saw this guy. Mother Nature sure knows what she is doing. Talk about camouflage. Since I normally never have my camera, this was a great photo opportunity!
