No picture today folks. I had two sick kids. I was really hoping that Payne would be well enough for school but turns out he was still coughing this horrible cough then Avery woke up coughing and has a runny nose and looked miserable. This was my "day off" from kids and had stuff planned so I've been a grouch today since I had to give up my 'ME' day for day 3 of sickness. And to top it off, Daddy is going out of town tomorrow for the night leaving me with kids all weekend alone. GRRRR. Maybe I'll be in a better mood for the weekend.

A pretty uneventful day. So the beautiful pear tree is dropping the blooms so our patio looks like its covered in white confetti. The tree is only pretty about 1 week a year!

Thunder clouds at 4:00 p.m. Of course, we've not seen rain other than a few sprinkles.
Destruction! Hooray! Yes, I'm crazy about destruction time around here. We are removing all the paneling in the middle living room and will hang drywall in the entire area. I figured since there should not be too much mess, I did not remove the furniture. Richard went ahead and wired one wall with cable and electricity in the middle of the wall for a flat screen t.v. Next.....the new hardwood floors in the entry, kitchen/dining room, middle living room, hall, kids living room and pantry. Carpet will remain in the front living room and bedrooms for sound control purposes. I hate being patient...I want it done NOW!

I've had some people ask about this and yes, I pass this two times on my walks through the cemetary. I walk almost daily, two laps around the cemetary for a total of just over 3 miles. I've been asked many times, as if I were a tour guide, where this plot is.

Happy anniversary. Not the good kind of anniversary but the 1st anniversary of my fall. Today you get the picture of my scar from the surgery to repair my humerus. In there are two plates and 11 screws. My bones should be fully healed by new. Looking back, I could never have imagined the road to recovery was so long. The first surgery with an external fixator for 10 days, the second surgery to fix the breaks (5 in all), the swelling, the roughly sixty therapy visits, the dreaded 8 hours a day on the elbow CPM machine for 2 months, the loss of use of my right hand to write or type normally, the orthopedist visits, the neurologist visits, the nasty tests on my nerves, and the hand specialist vists. Now my arm looks deformed but I can't see the scar unless I really have to look for it. Thankfully, I have a great husband to lean on, great parents to help with the kids and then to take care of me, baby sit me in the early days, cart me around to doctors, x-rays, therapy visits, to eat out and whatever else I needed, a great sister to hang out with, great friends to keep me company and cook for our family so Richard did not have to worry about that, and countless people I did not know to pray for me. So today, I sit here typing with one hand, writing that is barely legible, and enjoying life, enjoying my kids full time.
Today you get two pictures actually. I could not resist showing you this picture of Avery when we got home. Today was storytime/dance time at the library and and then lunch with my grandparents.
